VAM:  47 - Doubled 8 and Phrygian Cap

Comments:  When acquired in mid-2019 this was our only example of VAM 47.  We struggled with this one and were not sure of its existence, but here it is.

 

PCGS rated this coin as an MS61 but we think it has to be on the upper end of the grade because the bag damage to the devices seems minimal.  But the coin does lack luster and that may have knocked it down in their opinion.

 

This VAM shares a lot of features with others where the dies overlap and a lot more study is needed to understand both die sequence and use.
