Comments:  To identify this VAM on this coin you need to rely on the pinned wing because many of the other features are subtle.  Often this VAM is strongly clashed, but that is not the case with this example.  The clash at the mouth is almost non-existant with just a line showing between the lips.  There is no clash line at the neck as is most often seen.  The pinned wing is visible and a reliable source of information and identification.

The grade for this coin is right with some bag marks in the fields and not a really full strike.  Much of the hair is flat on the higher spots.  There is sufficient damage around the eye socket to also detract from the overall appearance.  We would rate the reverse somewhat better.
