Comments:  This coin earned its Mint State 61 rating through a lot of years of abuse.  On the obverse the bag marks on the face are excessive and the fields are also damaged.  The reverse is better, but not so good as to carry the coin to a higher grade.

 

The toning that is just beginning is more discoloration than something that improves the eye appeal of the coin.  This is definitely an MS 61 coin and if the reverse were a little more damaged it would be a genuine MS 60.
