Comments:  This coin borders on PL state, but it is a little discolored which probably knocked the reflectivity down a notch and killed the PL designation.  It is not unusual for us to find this VAM in Proof Like condition at this grade.

We did not include this one in our Toned Coins because there isn't any color spectrum that would teach us anything.  At most there is a little very early stage "Glow" from the light yellows and peach colors.

For the grade this is still a very nice coin and it is difficult not to like a VAM 5 with its O/O mint mark.  There are other O/O in the series, but none as dramatic as the VAM 5.  The doubled last 1 is also a little more dramatic on this one.

Another telltale sign of the VAM 5, and one we like best, is the over-polished curls at the base of the neck.  It is a defining characteristic of this VAM and instantly recognizable.
