5 - O/O Right, Doubled 1

Identified in 1974 by Tom DeLorey

 

 

Obverse Hub III2 Die 3

The last 1 is doubled at the top and on the lower right side of the shaft.

 

Reverse Hub C3 Die c

The mint mark is doubled on the right inside with a shallow, thin, diagonal gouge two-thirds of the way up in the opening of the O.

 

Other Characteristics

Obverse -  Some coins show the bottom of the hair curl near the M initial polished out.  There is a faint line that extends from the top of the eyelid to the bridge of the nose.

 

Reverse - There are several leaves incompletely struck in the left wreath and the 7th tail feather is slightly separated.  There us a die scratch from the right star to the rim.
